Our safety team is one of our most prominent subteams. We take pride in our safety program, and all together we've earned 16 safety awards. Our safety team is always thinking ahead and thinking of new ways to stay safe, especially in these trying times. Not only does our safety team keep our team safe, they protect other teams with their efforts. Our safety team has impacted approximately 10 rookie and 15 veteran teams to start safety in the past three years alone. At competitions, our team gives safety presentations to every team and hands out first-aid kits to rookie teams. The veteran teams have premade bags of medical supplies available from our safety subteam. Our safety team also helps write a safety manual for our middle school teams, since FIRST does not supply one for FTC, and FIRST in Michigan (FIM) reached out to our safety team to write safety badges one through four. Even though the program has been discontinued, we still require all our team members to complete the requirements for a level 1 badge. Safety means a lot to our team, and we make sure to educate our team and encourage them to be safe on and off the field.
